电压门控钾通道(Kv)决定心脏、脑和骨骼肌细胞的兴奋性。Kv 形成八聚体通道,由包含孔道的 alpha 亚基和相关的 beta 亚基组成。alpha 亚基与 beta 亚基以 alpha4beta4 的配比为结合。alpha 亚基已被分类为 12 个家族,每个家族有若干代表。Kv 1-4 的成员形成同源四聚体和异源四聚体,但 Kv 5-12 的成员形成功能异源四聚体。Kv 表达于轴突、轴突节点、细胞体 - 树突部位和轴突末梢。

Voltage gated Potassium channels Voltage-gated K+ channels (Kv) determine the excitability of heart, brain and skeletal muscle cells. Kv form octameric channel with alpha subunits that forms the pore of the channel and associated beta subunits. The alpha subunits associate with beta subunits with a stoichiometry of alpha4beta4.The alpha subunits have been classified into 12 families, 1-12 with several representatives from each family. Members of Kv 1-4 form both homotetramers and heterotetramers, however, members of Kv 5-12 form functional heterotetramers. Kv's are expressed in the axon, at axon nodes, somatodendritic sites and axon termini.
