O-连接糖基化是指单糖连接到氨基酸的羟基上，主要发生在丝氨酸和苏氨酸上，存在于真核生物、古菌和细菌中。O-糖基化表现出多种修饰类型，其中内层单糖包括：哺乳动物中的N-乙酰半乳糖胺（map00512）、甘露糖（map00515）以及其他（此图）；酵母中的N-乙酰葡萄糖胺、葡萄糖、甘露糖；植物中的阿拉伯糖。
