β-catenin 的 S33 突变体干扰 GSK3 的磷酸化,导致蛋白质稳定化和核定位,并增强 WNT 信号通路 (Groen et al, 2008; Nhieu et al, 1999; Clements et al, 2002; 综述于 Polakis, 2000)。S33 突变体已在中枢神经系统、肝脏、子宫内膜和胃等癌症中被鉴定 (综述于 Polakis, 2000)。

CTNNB1 S33 mutants aren't phosphorylated S33 mutations of beta-catenin interfere with GSK3 phosphorylation and result in stabilization and nuclear localization of the protein and enhanced WNT signaling (Groen et al, 2008; Nhieu et al, 1999; Clements et al, 2002; reviewed in Polakis, 2000). S33 mutations have been identified in cancers of the central nervous system, liver, endometrium and stomach, among others (reviewed in Polakis, 2000).
