RAC2 GTPase cycle This pathway catalogues RAC2 guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs), GTPase activator proteins (GAPs), GDP dissociation inhibitors (GDIs) and RAC2 effectors. RAC2 is exclusively expressed in hematopoietic cells (Troeger and Williams 2013). RAC2 is a component of the phagocytic oxidase complex in neutrophils (Troeger and Williams 2013). RAC2 is required for adhesion and mobilization of hematopoietic stem cells and progenitor cells (Troeger and Williams 2013). RAC2 is also needed for adhesion, migration and degranulation of mast cells (Troeger and Williams 2013). Mutations in RAC2 have been found in a small number of patients with primary immunodeficiencies (Gu and Williams 2002; Troeger and Williams 2013; Lougaris et al. 2020).
