促红细胞生成素激活磷脂酶Cγ。PLCG1（磷脂酶Cγ1）或PLCG2与激活的EPOR结合后，由激酶LYN磷酸化酪氨酸残基（Ren et al. 1994，并推断自小鼠同源物）。PLCG1和PLCG2产生肌醇1,4,5-三磷酸，进而激活钙信号和磷脂酰肌醇二酰基（DAG），DAG随后激活蛋白激酶C（PKC）。

Erythropoietin activates Phospholipase C gamma (PLCG) PLCG1 (Phospholipase C gamma1) or PLCG2 bound to the activated EPOR is phosphorylated on tyrosine residues by the kinase LYN (Ren et al. 1994, and inferred from mouse homologs). PLCG1 and PLCG2 produce inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate which then activates calcium signaling, and diacylglycerol (DAG) which then activates protein kinase C (PKC).
