Viral life cycle — HIV-1: the human immunodeficiency virus enters CD4+ T cells via gp120-CD4 binding and CCR5/CXCR4 co-receptors, reverse transcribes its RNA genome to DNA using viral RT, integrates into host genome as provirus via integrase, and produces new virions through host transcription/translation machinery.
